Lord Ganesh

         

               We know him as the son of  Lord Shiva and Mata Parvati, he is also well known as Ganapati, Vinaayaka or Vighneswara , Lambodaram. He is considered as the god who helps us to overcome obstacles in life. Worshipping Ganapati helps man to be courageous and confident. Ganapati is made of three words. 'Ga' means intellect(buddhi) 'Na' means wisdom (vijana) and Pathi means the master. That's why he is considered as the master of intellect and wisdom. He is destroyer of pride and selfishness. He is lord of siddhi (fulfillment) .




          He is worshipped before any other god are worshipped, because he revolved his parents (Devo ka dev (God of the god) Mahadev and Parvati before his brother as he thought that the father and mother are like huge world. In another had Kumara revolved world with the help of Peacock.

           He is mainly worshipped in Chaturthi, which exactly falls after four day after full moon day(Bhadrapada( August/September) Basically he is worshipped on everyday  but some choose to do on Tuesday. Ganesh Chatuthi is celebrated in the honor of Lord Ganesha. It is observed throughout India , as well as devotee of Hindus in all parts of world. The festival is widely celebrated in Maharastra, West Bengal, Gujarat, Goa, Karnataka, Tamilnaidu and Andra Pradesh.
